To celebrate the spirit of patriotism and India's rich cultural heritage, Sophia High School, Mount Abu organised an Inter-House Patriotic and Folk Dance Competition on 1st August 2026 in the school auditorium. The event provided a wonderful platform for students to express their love for the nation and showcase India's vibrant traditions through dance.
The competition was judged by Reverend Father Cosmos Shekhawat, Parish Priest of St. Anne's Church, Sister Mary Jacob from the Convent of Jesus and Mary, and Mrs. Hemlata. The programme was also graced by the presence of the special guest, Sister Shushma.
Group A (Classes VI–VIII) presented inspiring patriotic dances portraying unity, freedom, courage, sacrifice, and love for the motherland. Group B (Classes IX–X) showcased colourful folk dances representing the cultures of West Bengal, Uttarakhand, Punjab, and Gujarat, reflecting India's rich cultural diversity through graceful movements, vibrant costumes, and excellent coordination.
The performances were judged on choreography, synchronisation, creativity, expressions, costumes, and overall presentation. Reverend Father Cosmos Shekhawat appreciated the confidence, teamwork, and dedication displayed by all the participants.
During the programme, Sister Shushma presented certificates to the winners of the Spell Bee Competition, while the results were announced by the Principal, Sister Abha.

In her concluding address, Sister Abha encouraged the students to continue participating in such activities that foster confidence, discipline, teamwork, and respect for the nation's cultural diversity.
The programme concluded with a deep sense of patriotic pride, leaving the audience inspired and celebrating the unity and cultural richness of India.
