Teachers' Day celebration 2025
Report on Teacher’s Day Celebration – 2025 

Teacher’s Day was celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm on 6th September 2025 in the school premises. 
The teachers were warmly welcomed by the students with favours, and the school hall was beautifully decorated, creating a festive atmosphere befitting the occasion.
The program began with a full-dress prayer service conducted by the Secondary students, which included Scripture readings, petitions, and the hymn “Bless the Lord, O My Soul.” This was followed by a graceful prayer dance by the Primary students, setting a serene and devotional tone for the day.
A delightful cultural program was presented by students of the KG, Primary, and Secondary sections under the guidance of our principal ,Sister Abha, and Primary & KG In-charge Sister Mary. The highlights included a skit by the Secondary students, which added humour  to the celebration. The Head Girl then delivered a heartfelt speech, expressing gratitude on behalf of all the students.
The students felicitated the teachers with handmade cards and then presented them with a gift as a token of love and gratitude by the management. In her address, Principal Sister Abha appreciated the dedication of the teaching fraternity, beautifully remarking that “teachers plant the seeds of knowledge, and with their guidance, young minds and hearts blossom into fruitful lives.”
To add cheer to the event, fun-filled games like musical chairs, balloon bursting, and paper cup pyramid making were organised by Principal Sister Abha for the teachers. The winners were presented with prizes by Sir Lalit Kalma. Finally, the celebration concluded with a wholesome and delicious lunch arranged by the management at a reputed hotel.
 The event was indeed a memorable tribute to the invaluable contribution of teachers in shaping the future of students.

The 79th Independence Day was celebrated in our school with immense pride, joy, and patriotic fervor. The campus bloomed in the vibrant hues of saffron, white, and green, adorned with fluttering flags and festive decorations.
The celebration began on the school ground with the flag hoisting ceremony, led by our honorable Chief Guest and Manager, Sr. Prema, accompanied by our Principal, Sr. Abha. As the tricolor unfurled, the solemn notes of the National Anthem resonated in the air, stirring hearts with deep love for the nation.
The program then moved to the school auditorium, where a beautifully arranged cultural presentation unfolded. It opened with a soulful prayer service by the secondary students, followed by a melodious prayer song. The primary students lifted the spirit of the occasion with a patriotic song, while the secondary section showcased an inspiring speech on independence, a graceful folk dance, and vibrant patriotic dances — all reflecting the spirit of freedom, unity, and pride.
After the program, certificates were also distributed to the winners of the Spell Bee Competition, Debate Competition, and Solo Singing Competition conducted last month, adding to the joy and recognition of students’ talents and achievements.
Our Chief Guest, Sr. Prema, in her soul-stirring address, paid heartfelt tribute to our freedom fighters and inspired the gathering to cherish this hard-earned freedom, remain steadfast in unity, uphold the values of truth and justice, and contribute selflessly to the progress and prosperity of our beloved India.
Our Principal, Sr. Abha, concluded the celebration with her words of wisdom and heartfelt appreciation for the well-coordinated program.
The day ended on a sweet note with the distribution of sweets to students, symbolizing joy, togetherness, and celebration. This memorable occasion left every heart brimming with patriotism and pride.

Day with stars- PRL inspires future scientists

On the occasion of National Space Day, our school had the privilege of hosting Professor Dr. Sunil Chandra, In-charge of the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Mount Abu, along with his dedicated team. Their visit turned an ordinary day into an extraordinary journey through the universe which ignited young minds with the wonders of space and inspire future scientists.

Dr. Sunil captivated the audience with an insightful presentation on the history of PRL, India’s remarkable strides in space exploration, and milestone missions like Chandrayaan, Mangalyaan (Mission Mars), and Aditya-L1. He also shed light on fascinating aspects of space science, astronomy, telescopes, ongoing research, and the promising career opportunities awaiting young aspirants in these fields.

The session came alive during the interactive Question & Answer, where our curious students asked thought- provoking questions on science, space, and technology. Each query was met with detailed, inspiring answers that broadened perspectives and sparked imaginations.
Patriotic and Folk dance competition

The Patriotic and Folk dance competition was a resplendent celebration of India's rich cultural heritage. The students performances were a testament to their artistic prowess and dedication. The esteemed judges of the competiton  Sr Abha, our Principal, Ma'am Hemlata and Bhavesh sir were warmly welcomed with the audience applauding them as they took their seats showing respect for their expertise. 

The competition was a House-wise competition for both Senior and Junior group. 

Senior group - classes 9 & 10 ( Folk dance ) , 
Junior group - classes 6 & 7 ( Patriotic dance ).

 The judging criteria were: 
* Choreography
* Synchronization             
* Costume                         
* Facial expressions.

 The dance performances were a masterful amalgamation of elegance, poise and dynamism, captivating the audience with their sheer brilliance. The judges views were illuminating, providing valuable insights to the  performers. The competition fostered a sense of camaraderie and sportsmanship among the participants. The competition was a resounding success.
Rakhi making competition (Secondary)

 A Rakhi making competition was a celebration of the sacred bond between brothers and sisters. It was a class-wise competition where all the students' from classes 6 to 10 participated with creativity and enthusiasm. The competition aimed to promote the significance and cultural value of Rakhi. Participants showcased their artisitic skills, creating beautiful and innovative Rakhis. The Rakhis were an amalgamation of traditional and contemporary designs. The Rakhis were made from diverse materials including threads, beads and fabrics. The innovative use of materials and colours was truly captivating. The competition fostered a sense of fraternal affection and responsibility. The competition was judged on creativity, design, material use, overall appeal. The students' hard-work and dedication were evident in their intricate designs. The competition encouraged students' to think creatively and expressed themselves artistically. The competition was a resounding success. The students' enthusiasm and creativity made the event unforgettable . The event was a testament to the students' creativity and talent.

Spelling Bee competition
Report on Spelling Bee Competition

The Spelling Bee Competition was successfully held on 26th July 2025 in the school hall. Organized by the English Department, the event aimed to enhance students’ vocabulary, spelling, and public speaking skills.
Participants from Classes 6 to 10 represented their respective houses and competed in a series of engaging rounds—Spelling, Picture, Homophones, Prefix-Suffix (Word Formation), and Rapid Fire (Spellathon). The well-prepared students impressed the audience with their sharp spelling skills and quick thinking.
The competition was both challenging and exciting. Sr. Principal appreciated the efforts of all participants and encouraged everyone to read more to strengthen their language abilities.
Overall, the Spelling Bee was an enriching, enjoyable, and memorable experience for all.

Seminar Report – Operation Sindoor

Today, our school had the honour of hosting Major Ujjawal Kumar Gupta, a dedicated officer of the Indian Army, who delivered an inspiring seminar on Operation Sindoor—a strategic mission launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack orchestrated by Pakistan-backed militants.
Major Gupta shared insightful details on the meticulous planning and execution of the operation, which involved coordinated efforts between army units, cutting-edge technology, and intelligence agencies. The mission successfully neutralized terrorist camps near the Line of Control, eliminated key militant leaders, and recovered a significant cache of weapons and explosives.
His address highlighted the bravery, discipline, and strategic excellence of the Indian Army. The operation not only secured the region but also restored civilian confidence.
Major Gupta urged students to stay informed, respect the armed forces, and contribute to the nation in every possible way. The seminar was both enlightening and deeply motivational, leaving all present with a renewed sense of patriotism and admiration for our soldiers.

Inter-House Solo Singing Competition

To promote young talent and boost student confidence, an Inter-House Solo Singing Competition was held on 19th July 2025 in the school hall. The event was open to students from Classes 6 to 10, with each house — Ruby, Emerald, Sapphire, and Topaz — sending two participants.

Students sang in Hindi and English, showcasing their vocal skills and stage presence. The competition was judged by Sir Chandresh, Sr. Abha, and Sir Arun, based on voice quality, rhythm and tempo, clarity of lyrics, expression and confidence, and overall impact.

The event was a resounding success, revealing the musical talents of our students and filling the hall with soulful melodies. It was a memorable experience that encouraged students to pursue their passion for music.

English Debate Competition Report

An English Debate Competition for the Secondary Section was held on 12th July 2025 in the school hall to boost students’ speaking, thinking, and reasoning skills.

The event had two categories: Junior (Classes 6–8) and Senior (Classes 9–10) with participants from Ruby, Emerald, Sapphire, and Topaz Houses. Topics included:

Junior: “Are E-Games Better than Physical Games?” and “Working Women Can Be Better Leaders?”

Senior: “Is Technology Making People Less Social?” and “Is It Better to Be an Only Child or to Have Siblings?”

Students spoke for and against the motion with confidence and clarity. Sister Blanche, Sister Mary, and Ma’am Malti judged the event.

International Yoga Day
International Yoga Day Report
Date: 21st June 2025

Sophia School, Mount Abu, celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm across Kindergarten, Primary, and Secondary sections. The day began with an inspiring address by Sister Principal Abha, who emphasized the importance of yoga for a healthy mind and body, and urged students to make it a part of their daily life. She appreciated everyone’s efforts in making the event a success.

The Secondary students, led by Sir Gajendra, participated in the mass yoga session at Polo Ground, Mount Abu. They joined hundreds in performing various asanas with energy and discipline, proudly representing the school.

In the Primary Section, under the guidance of Topaz House teachers and Sir Bhavesh, students performed a series of yoga postures, with the pyramid formations by Class 5 as the highlight. Sister Mary encouraged students to follow a balanced lifestyle through yoga.

The Kindergarten children enjoyed simple poses like Tree, Butterfly, and Child’s Pose in a fun and engaging manner, promoting flexibility and focus.

The celebration across all sections reflected the school’s dedication to promoting well-being and holistic development through yoga.
Students'seminar(24th May)
On 24th May, a session on adolescence and its consequences was organised by the principal of the school. The resource person was Sister Pearl, Principal of Sophia College Ajmer. The session was especially for classes 8, 9 and 10. Sister Pearl, shared her expertise and insights aiming to provide a platform for girls to understand the physical, emotional, and psychological changes they experience during adolescence. The session kick started with some action songs, which they enjoyed singing and dancing which lifted up their moods. Various topics were explained during the session including physical changes during puberty, emotional well-being and stress management, importance of self-care, building self-confidence and self-esteem, healthy relationships and communication, as well as the difference between infatuation and love. 
The resource person, Sister Pearl laid emphasis on the importance of communicating and seeking guidance from adults, such as parents, mentors and teachers. She encouraged the girls to embrace their individuality and develop a positive attitude towards their own body image. The girls actively participated in the session, and were quite interactive, allowing them to express their thoughts and concerns. Many students appreciated the information and engaging discussion they had with Sister Pearl. Overall, the seminar was a resounding success, giving girls an opportunity to understand the stage they are currently going through.
International Worker's Day or Labour Day
May 2025 Celebration
International Worker's Day or Labour Day

Worker's Day is a celebration of the power and dignity of labor, reminding us value of hard work.  A series of cultural events were put up by the secondary students. Beginning with a special prayer service for our workers, followed by a welcome song, a special skit, and a folk fusion dance concluded with a Bollywood dance. The event was enjoyed and appreciated by our workers. A vote of thanks was delivered by our principal, Sister Abha for honouring and appreciating their dedicated work and giving a strong message that every job is valuable and deserving fair treatment and respect. Gifts were awarded to the 1st and 2nd position holders in the games conducted by Sapphire house teachers for the workers. Gangaram bhaiya and Prakash Bhaiya were felicitated on completion of their 25 years of dedicated service to the school.

Sophian’s Day is a cherished occasion celebrating the values and legacy of Sophia. The special assembly, conducted by Class 10, began with a soulful prayer, setting a reverent tone for the day.

Students then took us through the inspiring history of Sophia School, highlighting the vision of Mother Mary Matilda and Bishop Henry Caumont in empowering girls through education. In her address, Sister reinforced Sophia’s core values—truth, faith, love, and service—urging students to uphold them. She also encouraged students to write about Sophia, ensuring its legacy remains alive in their hearts and minds.

The assembly concluded with the Sophian anthem, filling hearts with pride, followed by a sweet treat of chocolates for all. This day was a reminder of our shared commitment to Sophia’s mission.

The Secondary Students' Initiation Ceremony was a resounding success, marking a significant milestone in the academic journey of our students. The event commenced with a warm welcome address, followed by the symbolic lighting of the lamp, which represented the pursuit of knowledge, wisdom, and enlightenment. Students then took an oath to uphold Sophia High School's values and strive for excellence in academics and personal growth. The investiture ceremony saw house representatives and newly appointed leaders being formally inducted and entrusted with their roles and responsibilities. The ceremony concluded with a motivational address by the Principal, encouraging students to aim high, embrace challenges, and make the most of their academic journey. Overall, the ceremony was a momentous occasion that inspired and motivated our students to excel in all aspects of school life.
