Report on Gandhi Jayanti: Special Assembly
& Feast celebration
Sophia High School celebrated Gandhi Jayanti and Shastri Jayanti with reverence across the Kindergarten, Primary, and Secondary sections.
In Kindergarten, students offered prayers, delivered short speeches, answered questions, and sang “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram,” filling the atmosphere with innocence and devotion.
In the Primary and Secondary sections, the program began with an introduction by Sister Principal and Sister Mary, followed by lighting of the lamp, a solemn prayer service, and floral tributes at the leaders’ portraits. Hymns and Gandhiji’s bhajans created a peaceful atmosphere, and students raised slogans recalling Shastri Ji’s values and his famous call “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan.” Children dressed as Gandhiji and Shastriji added life to the occasion.
The celebration paid heartfelt tribute to both leaders, inspiring students to follow their values of peace, truth, simplicity, and patriotism.
The day was further made special by the Feast Celebration of Sr. Prema & Sr. Blanche, where teachers offered cards, bouquet, and cake, and sang songs to bless them. They thanked all the sisters and teachers for their love and thoughtful celebration of their feast day.
