Diwali Celebration Report
The festival of lights, Diwali, was celebrated with immense joy and splendour at Sophia High School. The campus shimmered with festive cheer as students from all sections participated enthusiastically.
On 16th October, the celebration in the K.G. Hall began with a soulful Prayer Service, invoking God’s blessings for peace and prosperity. The Wishing Dance by K.G. students spread smiles, followed by a delightful Skit depicting Ramayana and conveying the message of Diwali. An energetic Dance Performance on the theme “Happy Diwali” added vibrancy. Sister Mary, our Primary In-charge, along with the teachers, shared inspiring messages, highlighting the true spirit and values of Diwali.
On 17th October, a Special Assembly in the Secondary Section brought together Primary and Secondary students. It began with a heartfelt Prayer Service, followed by a captivating Ramlila, portraying the triumph of good over evil and the entire story of Ramayana beautifully condensed. Sister Blanche and Sister Abha, our Principal, motivated the students to live with honesty, kindness, and to spread light in the world, and to follow the values taught in Ramayana — being obedient, truthful, and compassionate.
The celebration concluded with a few Secondary students lighting small fireworks, symbolizing joy and brightness, and ended with lively Diwali songs and dances, filling the school with happiness and festive spirit.
